Easter Brunches in Shanghai 2021 (April 3-5)
Easter is on Sunday, April 4—that's over the long weekend. (Qingming holiday is from April 3-5, Monday is a day off, for some.) Easter might be your last chance to pack on the last of your winter weight on before summer really hits!

The Portman-Ritz Carlton will have a brunch buffet in the Shen Ballroom for Easter Sunday. The spread includes fresh chilled seafood, smoked salmon, cold cuts, cheese, sushi and sashimi, salads, and Chinese and Western hot dishes, and a dessert station.
Plus, there's a carving
station for Peking Duck, slow-roasted prime rib, whole leg of
lamb, crispy German pork knuckle and torched salmon. There will also be kid-friendly activities egg hunt, painting, cupcake making), a live band and complimentary photography.

Chef Lucky Lasagna is heading the charge at Italo for Easter Sunday, serving up a set menu of festive Italian dishes. Order of the day includes antipasti of artichoke and an asparagus and pancetta omelette, nettle and ricotta ravioli in tomato sauce, mains of slow-roasted lamb or roast beef, sides of roasted potatoes, salad or sautéed chicory, and dessert. Set menu is ¥328, or ¥488 including two hours free-flow selected wine.

Craig Willis' café/wine bar/restaurant has a particularly Scandinavian special Easter Menu on for three days: smoke salmon, fried fish fillet with remoulade, cold cut leg ham, Danish meat balls, roast pork belly, brunsviger and Danish apple pudding. Lunch and dinner, the platter is ¥298 per person.

The Bull & Claw promises a proper roast with all the traditional trimmings, available for lunch and dinner from April 3 to 5. The roast beef set is ¥138, includes goose fat roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, roasted baby carrots, French beans, broccoli, red cabbage and house gravy. The roast lamb, with spinach, mascarpone cheese & mushrooms (and the above sides) is ¥158. Plus, ¥188 free-flow on April 4 from 6-9pm. You're going to want to book ahead for this one, it fills up fast.

Sir Elly’s at The Peninsula Shanghai has Easter brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Appetizers to share include fresh breads, gazpacho, scallop, hamachi tartare, foie gras torch and squid tempura. Then, choose one dish from the eggs selection, one main (lamb, sea bass, ribeye, red mullet, pasta) and one dessert. The brunch is ¥688 per person, kids ages 4-12 are ¥328. Prices subject to 16.6% service charge. There's also a children's playroom.

Italian institution Atto Primo is preparing, packing and shipping a traditional Neapolitan treat. It's an alternative to Easter eggs! The Pastiera is a traditional Easter treat that's been around forever, a shortbread shell stuffed with a cream made from ricotta, eggs, candied fruits and orange blossom water. Prices are ¥238/298/338 for a 15/20/25cm pastry. Advance bookings required, but it's now available all year round, not just Easter!
